Our borehole drilling has now been completed, with core soil samples extracted and sent to the lab for testing. A standpipe has also been installed in the hole, which we will use to monitor groundwater levels on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

The results will be interpreted by our Structural Engineers and used to prepare a Basement Impact Assessment (BIA). This will analyse the risks posed by the proposed basement construction and suggest any mitigation measures if necessary. In the unlikely event that a basement is not feasible for structural or cost reasons, we will of course reconsider the designs. If we still intend to proceed, a copy of the BIA will be submitted to the council for approval as required by the planning conditions.
